How Scout works

Walk any property without walking the property.

Scout is someone in the field for you. A verified local Scout drives your leads for dollars, walks every room of a house, or does an EstiMate Walkthrough that comes back as a priced repair estimate. Below, one sample house in Hartford, CT, from the Deal Radar lead to what comes back, without anyone on your side driving there.

Driving 4 Deals is the driving for dollars app inside EstiMate, and it comes with any REILink account. It plans the route through your Deal Radar leads, records every street, saves the houses worth a look with photos and signs, and skip traces the owner. You can drive it yourself, or a Scout drives it for you. When a house needs more than the curb, a Scout goes inside: a walkthrough of every room, or an EstiMate Walkthrough that comes back as a priced repair estimate. Whatever the Scout captures comes back to that same house.

The deal comes in on Deal Radar

Deal Radar finds the owners most likely to sell, and tells you why. This morning the sample house is on your list with a score of 76: the listing expired without a sale, high equity, and an owner of more than 15 years.

    • Every score shows its reasons, and the points each one added.
    • Fresh counts for more. A filing from last week weighs more than one from last spring.
    • The score drops when the chance does: a foreclosure cured, an auction cancelled, the house sold.

Questions.

Do Scouts go inside?

On the Interior Property Walkthrough and the EstiMate Walkthrough, yes. The homeowner or authorized contact is told who is coming, gets the Scout’s photo and ID, and confirms entry at the door. The Exterior Property Check never goes inside.

How does the Scout get in?

You choose when you order: a lockbox, the contact meets them, a representative meets them, or another approved way. A lockbox code is shown to the Scout only once they have checked in at the property.

Do I need an EstiMate subscription?

No. The EstiMate Walkthrough includes the repair estimate. It is built in your own REILink account and you get the link to the report.

What is in the EstiMate report?

The scope room by room with quantities and unit costs, the consumables on each line, the dumpster and permits the job needs, the same scope at three finish levels and a materials list. Download the sample report to see all of it.

What if something can’t be photographed?

The Scout marks it with a reason, such as not visible from an authorized spot or not safe to capture, and you see it in your results. Areas the Scout could not reach are listed, and the estimate says what it doesn’t cover.

Do Scouts diagnose problems?

No. Scouts flag what they see and link it to their photos. The estimate is built with EstiMate from that evidence.

What does it cost, and what do Scouts earn?

You see the price before you pay. Scouts see exactly what they earn before they accept.
